This 2.4-kilometer out-and-back nature walk meanders alongside the tranquil river through lush landscapes, offering an easy and accessible route for visitors of all abilities. As you stroll beneath towering eucalyptus trees, it's common to spot koalas dozing in the branches above, while kangaroos and vibrant birdlife—including king parrots and kookaburras—add to the rich tapestry of wildlife. The area's name reflects an interesting piece of natural history: the word "koala" originates from an Aboriginal term meaning "no drink," a nod to the marsupial's remarkable adaptation of obtaining most of its hydration directly from eucalyptus leaves. A penguin stone was placed near one of the trees along this scenic route, hidden among the native vegetation that makes this corner of the national park so special.
