#626 Soviet War Memorial Tiergarten
Soviet War Memorial Tiergarten, Berlin, Germany
About this stone
A powerful tribute to the Soviet soldiers who fell during the Battle of Berlin in 1945, this memorial stands in the heart of the city, a short walk from the Brandenburg Gate. The grand monument features massive columns, a central statue of a Soviet soldier, and two imposing T-34 tanks flanking the entrance. The tanks themselves carry historical weight—reminders of the brutal conflict that shaped the city. A penguin stone now rests inside one of these historic tanks, tucked away as a quiet modern addition to this solemn place.
