About this Stone
Karpacz is a mountain town in southwestern Poland, sitting at the foot of the Karkonosze Mountains and known for hiking, skiing, and winter sports. One of its sporting landmarks is the Orlinek ski jumping hill, originally built in 1912 and later rebuilt several times. The hill has hosted ski jumping competitions and is closely associated with Polish ski jumper Stanisław Marusarz, one of the country’s most famous winter athletes. Today, visitors can climb the tower and enjoy views over Karpacz and the surrounding mountains. The penguin is on the ski jumping tower on the view deck.
