About this Stone
Set on the Dunajec River below the dramatic Niedzica Castle, the Niedzica Hydroelectric Power Plant is an important part of the Czorsztyn Reservoir landscape. The plant uses the water of the Dunajec to generate electricity and also helps regulate water levels and protect the surrounding area from flooding. An interesting fact is that it is a pumped-storage facility, allowing water to be moved between reservoirs and used to generate electricity when demand is higher. While wandering around the area, we also hid a little surprise: a penguin stone!
