This serene green space sits just behind the 13th-century Church of Sant'Agostino, offering sweeping views over the city and a peaceful retreat within the historic center. The tree was planted on May 7, 2024, in memory of Laerte Mulinacci, a young member of the Contrada della Tartuca who tragically passed away in a road accident. His family and friends organized the initiative with the support of local artists and the community. A Prunus pissardii—known for its resilience and delicate pink blossoms—was chosen as a symbol of tenacity and remembrance. During the inauguration, attendees decorated the tree with copper leaves inscribed with personal messages, and fabric pieces were collected to create a commemorative tapestry. The penguin stone rests here, leaning against the trunk.
