Vrch Javorske Schelter, Oščadnica, 🇸🇰 Slovakia
About this Stone
After a rewarding climb, we finally reached the summit of Vrch Javorské above Oščadnica, standing at 860 meters (2,822 ft) above sea level, right by the river where we also discovered a small mountain shelter. At the top, the shelter offers a perfect refuge to escape bad weather, take a break, or even spend the night if needed, making it a welcoming haven deep in the forest. This time, we decided to hide a second penguin stone right at the top of the shelter, carefully placed under the roof so it stays dry and hidden from view, waiting for a lucky hiker to discover it. Nearby, the surrounding trees and colorful hiking signposts still point toward the many trails that weave through the Kysuce region. Now this tiny explorer rests above the forest paths, quietly watching over the mountain shelter and ready to surprise the next adventurer passing through the beautiful Slovak mountains.
