About this stone

After a steep descent from the Black Lake, the trail opens into a peaceful crossing where several paths converge in an open meadow. Lush grass and tall evergreens frame the spot, and the air noticeably cools and calms once you've finished the demanding descent. A wooden signpost points toward Tauplitz, marking the way onward through the valley. The distant sound of a stream and the soft crunch of gravel underfoot create a tranquil atmosphere—it's the kind of place that invites you to pause, breathe in the fresh alpine air, and simply appreciate the landscape before continuing your journey. The stone hidden here is distinctly peculiar-looking, making it a memorable waypoint in the high country.
