#546 Girl with a Fawn

Girl with a Fawn, Bratislava, Slovakia

About this stone

This charming bronze sculpture captures a tender moment between a young girl and a small deer, symbolizing innocence, harmony with nature, and the gentle spirit of youth. Crafted in 1942 from reddish sandstone, it was designed by Alojz Rigele and completed by Robert Kühmayer—their names appear inscribed near the girl's leg as a subtle tribute to their collaboration. The artwork has become a beloved feature of the city's public art landscape, drawing appreciation from both locals and tourists for its serene beauty. Remarkably, it holds the distinction of being the smallest fountain in the city, adding to its intimate charm and appeal.
